Measure round-trip time to public servers and compare Wi-Fi, Ethernet and mobile data on the same device. Browsers cannot send ICMP packets, so we time HTTPS requests instead — an honest approximation, not a copy of the system ping command.
How it works
- 1Run the test on the connection you want to evaluate.
- 2Read the average time and the variation between attempts.
- 3Repeat on another network: lower and steadier numbers mean a better connection for gaming and calls.
What counts as a good ping?
Under 30 ms is excellent for gaming and video calls, 30 to 80 ms is comfortable, and above 120 ms becomes noticeable. Stability matters as much as the average.
Why is the number different from the system ping?
Because we measure a complete HTTP request including the TLS handshake, not a single ICMP packet. That difference reflects the real cost of your connection opening a page.
