With a VPN connected, websites should see the VPN server's address. WebRTC can still announce your real address while negotiating calls and video. This test lists the candidates your browser reveals, without sending anything to a third party.
How it works
- 1Turn on the VPN you normally use if you are testing privacy.
- 2Open the page and let it collect ICE candidates.
- 3Compare the public address listed with your VPN's IP: a mismatch means a leak.
What exactly is a WebRTC leak?
It is the exposure of your real address through real-time communication APIs even when normal traffic goes through the VPN. Video players and calling apps use those APIs to negotiate the best route.
How do I stop it?
Modern browsers already hide local addresses by default. If a leak persists, disable WebRTC in the browser settings or use a VPN that blocks it inside the tunnel.
