WHOIS and RDAP domain lookup

Look up public domain registration data through RDAP.

We use RDAP, the modern standard replacing classic WHOIS, to return registrar, dates, status flags and name servers for the queried domain.

See registrar, creation and expiry dates, status flags and nameservers for a domain. We query RDAP, the standard that replaced classic WHOIS, and return the official public record.

How it works

  1. 1Enter the full domain, including the extension.
  2. 2Review the registrar, the dates and any lock status.
  3. 3Note the nameservers to compare against the configured DNS zone.

Can I see who owns a domain?

Rarely. Since GDPR, personal data of registrants is redacted by default. When information appears, it is usually the registrant organisation or the privacy service.

What do the status codes mean?

They are registry protections: clientTransferProhibited blocks transfers, clientHold suspends delegation. Suspension statuses explain why a site has gone offline.
